From cultural celebrations and wellness sessions to new projects and memorable gatherings, 2025 has been full of connection, learning and togetherness.

February – Senior Ladies’ Health Awareness Talk

On 25 February, Kunji Patel delivered an eye-opening session on bowel cancer awareness, giving our senior ladies the knowledge and confidence to better understand and manage their health.

We officially opened the Maitri Maternity continuity of care project, marking a significant step forward in community support for new and expectant mothers.

December – Seniors Christmas Lunch

We rounded off the year with a festive lunch filled with smiles, good food, and a warm sense of celebration.

Wednesday Hot Food Service

Through the Maitri Project, we served hot meals every Wednesday throughout the year. We closed the season with a festive edition featuring mince pies and chocolate, spreading a little extra joy during the holidays.

Yoga Classes

Our weekly yoga sessions continued to grow, creating a steady routine for relaxation, movement and wellbeing.

Senior Citizens’ Club

This year, our seniors enjoyed weekly yoga, reflective Satsang gatherings and a memorable September trip to three Leicester temples, complete with a shared lunch and moments of connection.

Sacred Strings – Cultural Outing

On 13 November, some of our members attended Sacred Strings, a live concert by the Mohan Brothers at St Paul’s Church, Covent Garden. The evening offered a rich and uplifting experience of Indian classical music and was a wonderful opportunity for members to enjoy a shared cultural outing beyond the centre.
